There's a hole in your heart, dear Asa, dear Asa.
There's a hole in your heart, dear Asa, a hole.

If the medics clear him, let him play. What's the worst that could happen? Ok, he dies in the stripes. But what a way to go.

Reflecting on this. If he chose to come to us I would be ruddy excited.

Brilliant player, one of my favourites of the modern Premier League era.

Come on Christian you know it makes sense.

Eriksen would be be a very exciting signing but while I think Brighton would be quite high up his list I think he'll either reunite with Conte in Tottenham or sign with Ajax.

Lallana used to be able to shoot.

Nope. Read a couple of pages in this thread: https://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=66irmg55pnnvd49n9ttt1d766m&topic=327576.0

Literally the first post says

The last area of his game he needs to work on is his finishing, got one last night so lets hope he can add some more. Really looking forward to how he gets on next season with a full pre-season under Klopp

and that is the reoccuring theme throughout the thread - he has always been known as inefficient in that department.

Don’t Brentford practically have a monopoly on Danish footballers in the Premier League?

Primarily, because he wants to play in the World Cup.

His weasel agent is predictably telling all and sundry what great nick he's in, so he can screw some more $$$ out of him. Personally I wouldn't touch him with a shitty stick. As you say, he's made for life financially, so why risk putting yourself through the immense physical exertion to get to the elite fitness levels to get back to being a PL and International player ?

I hope someone in his family has a word, and calms him down.

I'm no expert on heart conditions but its pretty obvious that the two things that destroy your heart are either little or no exercise or too much exertion. I really feel that if he wants to play for fun do it at a low level club just for the laughs, he could come and play at Worthing and it wouldn't be too hard on his heart ? He could be Molby-esque and just run the match from the centre circle.

Maybe he wants to play professional, top level football and his doctors said "yes you can do that".

Either way one big reason he def will not come to us - Wages ! He’ll expect at least £150k pw as a free agent

As we have done in the past, we could offer a nice signing on bonus to offset wages in-line with our existing structure.

I would be very surprised if we're close to signing Eriksen though, he would have interest from better prospects.. and spurs. It would be an exceptional transfer though, understand he has a heart device fitted now as does Daley Blind who has continued playing.

Yeah I looked at his stats a little while ago and over half of his 67 league goals (from 413 appearances) come from his League One and Championship days.

Prolific, he ain't.

Will he?

This signing feels like a huge gamble for any club looking at Eriksen’s health record. We’d be offering the same as Lallana/Dunk etc. I think he’d take that if we wanted him.

I'm not sure that a player turning 30 next month, having not been particularly good since 2019 and suffered a cardiac arrest 7 months ago will be in a position to demand 150k a week, especially not on a fixed term contract lasting longer than the end of the season.

One major positive about Eriksen, other than how good he used to be 3 or 4 years ago, is he was born in a town called Middelfart.

Incident from the summer aside, his health record is excellent with pretty much no serious injuries in his career. I think it is safe to assume that he and his doctors are not "gambling" with his heart, so in that sense I dont think it is a gamble at all.

Doesnt strike me as a greedy guy however and I dont think the money will be the key in where he ends up.

Totally agree. He may be looking for a Lallana style deal that would include the transition into coaching when the time comes, be that immediately or two/three years down the line.
