Sorry but, he's done well at every club he's been on loan at in this division (for a target man)

How people can compare him to a striker who hasn't played a full 90 minutes and plays a completely different role is ridiculous.

Everyone's excuse is 'Hoskins scored 21 goals for a team that got relegated' but that doesnt mean much at all if he doesn't perform or feature for us.

And to think people are suggesting Tyrone f***ing Barnett yet turning down Chris Wood, well it's ridiculous.

None of your buisness
Wood is obviously good enough to play for the Albion. Even if Hoskins becomes a world beater, I'd still want Wood as an option. Why wouldn't Hoskins take the position of CMS and Wood play the holding role? Already that sounds more exciting than Barnes and CMS together.
At the moment we have a a Goalkeeper good enough for international standard, a back 4 good enough for the prem, a midfield with prem potential and a strike-force which looks very league 1 at best. Wood would be a massive improvement on the team no doubt and I wont be suprised if he comes back. It wont be the first time Gus has shown interest in an Albion reject.

Got to be worth a go, what with TK and Casper injured.

He had the poorest first touch of any professional footballer I've ever seen

Haha. Ludicrous suggestion. Did you really never see Chris 'my second touch is a tackle' McPhee?

If he was here again, I reckon he'd notch a fair few, and NOT miss penalties

Did you go to the Southampton away match, 8ace?

Scored 8 goals, of which 4 were pens, in 22 starts, plus seven sub appearances. That's better than any of our unproven benchwarmers. If he was here again, I reckon he'd notch a fair few, and NOT miss penalties

Which one ???

The hard fought nil-nil draw, when Chris Wood missed a penalty...

(sorry - NSC went a bit random on me there, and showed otk 's post as yours! Weird)

I guess it depends on whats on offer and within our price range. Bearing in mind the utter tripe we've had on loan over the past season or so (Paynter and Vokes both not super), I would suggest that we don't have gazillions of pounds cash readily available for the miracle striker everyone is hoping for.

If I'm honest, I would be mildly underwhelmed if he re-signed but not disappointed. He's solid at this level and also proven. No he's not a big name or a proven Prem striker but its fairly clear that our budget can't stretch that far.

What harm is there taking him on loan until Jan 1st?

He's back on loan at Millwall until January

Tend to agree with you (except I have just seen the post that he is back at Millwall!). He would give us the target-man option, but too many strikers on the bench with both Dobbie and Hoskins (assuming CMS and Barnes continue to start)?

I liked him and would happily have him back at the club on loan or even permanently. Think he is developing into a really good front man.

I think you are confusing all people with a few people, probably because of the time you posted. I, and I'm sure many others, wouldn't advocate either Wood or Barnett.

Wood has been doing well but his first touch is very poor and he can't jump more that a few inches off the ground. Serve it up on a plate to him then fair enough but in general he doesn't create chances.

I wonder why he's been to so many clubs and none of them've wanted to retain him for a second stint?
