Still young, he could be anything really. But wouldn't have made this season's starting eleven. Probably not even the bench. This season we're sharper, quicker, smarter. Tho total respect for his contribution to the Albion cause. Obviously. :clap2:

He was rubbish for us after that international break he had! In fact no he was utter dogshit! Birminghams play will suit him. Nice and scrappy. Barnes, CMS and hoskins anyday of the week for me thanks.

Was so so average to poor for us, but Bennett, Murray, Barnes, Noone/LuaLua, Dicker & Co made him look ok for a while. By the end, he was patently crap.
Cannot forget some final home games e.g. Huddersfield, when the ball was played up to him about 15 times, and on about 14 of them, the defenders robbed him of the ball with ease.

I thought today that there must a namesake at B'ham, until the NZ nationality was mentioned.

How can he STILL be raw? He's had 76 first team appearances for us, West Brom, Barnsley and Birmingham. There comes a point at which 'raw' means 'not very good'.

Which is a superb achievement for a 19 year old. There's hundreds of 19 year olds who have played very, very few games, if any at all. The difference is, they don't get written off because they haven't been seen in first team action and so aren't knocked. When they play with lads of the same age, they look brilliant, but people judge them in comparison with the experienced lads in their mid-20s they get thrown in with. I think football fans in general are far, far to quick to write young players off.

And then there's Lewis Dunk.

Still Somewhere in Sussex!
Thought it was a good finish for the 2nd goal. If that had been for us, I'm sure it would have been an "air shot"

Although a lot of players had taken their foot off the gas by that stage, I remember Woods performance at Notts County on the final day as being particularly putrid. The old saying "couldn't trap a bag of cement" has never been truer for him that afternoon, pretty much every move we made fizzled out as soon as the ball arrived at Wood. He absolutely REEKED, the stench was suffocating, and I can remember walking away from that game hoping that was the last I'd seen of him in the stripes.

He was in the "ok to promising" bracket for us prior to going to China. Once he'd come back through, we'd have had more joy playing a broken washing machine up front. At least you could've worked some 1-2's off it.

Agreed... although, gotta say that I am shocked he's managed to score a hat-trick in the Championship...

Who is regularly precurssed by the tag exceptional. Wood played 18 games, at Championship level, in 09/10, when he was what, 17? Could Dunk have done that two years ago? There's room for the non-exceptional young prospects to be better than not very good though.

i dont rate him - slow, unintelligent, oafish......yes, may score a few here and there, but will never make a great player.
