Pretty sure this might have been a thread sometime ago but seeing his goal against Leicester at weekend (think this is 8th or 9th now) cannot help thinking it would have been good to get him back on loan - I seem to recall GP saying that at the time WBA were keen on keeping him and loaned him out at last moment - cannot help thinking he looks pretty hand and is more of a physical presence than what we have now. Took his goal on Sunday really well - just wondering what other NSC followers thought maybe try and buy him in Jan or get him on loan again?

Yep, he would have been a good option.

Meopham, Kent.
I'm more inclined to wonder whether we did enough to hang on to Murray.

Possibly but I was hoping we'd get somebody better. He's doing better than I would have expected though.

Who would be your preferred option - I'd love to see Maynard from Bristol City but think he is way out of our price band however that was the feeling on CMS and we all know what happened there?

i dont rate him at all - slow carthorse who can't head with no vision or ideas. 1980's type CF.....not for us.

He was ok until he went on international duty. When he came back he just seemed to have lost something.
I was never much of a fan of his, along with quite a few on here, but he does seem to be proving a lot of us wrong at the moment.

Should have signed him when we had the chance but I reckon his must have looked at some of the clueless idiots in here who thought he crap!

Not sure he suited our style of play. Maybe not mobile enough or pure target man. Fit more in a 4-4-2. Glad he doing well. Murray well course we all wanted him but him or CMS? No contest at all and he and Barnes you should prob take Barnes for his potential and goals.

I watched Woody as a second half sub at Notts Forest a week or so ago when he changed the game and scored two. He has certainly progressed but Birmingham play to his strength releasing him early from off the shoulder of the last defender. We simply don't play the ball through quickly enough for him to benefit from that here (although before this season you would have said that this was CMS' main strength too).

Of course the sages on here wrote him off anyway and they clearly know best :)

With Wood? No.

With Murray? Most definitely.

Concur. No loan players unless they plan to sign permanently. Or for emergencies, which is what they were designed for. We have got out squad until January. Then if we are still in with a chance ..... then we could use a forward that is better than both of them.

Although he didn't really do that much for us, he has progressed perhaps as he matures.

If he keeps on going as he is then possibly WBA may recall him from loan for some spurious reason.

Yes, he would have been an easy, cheap and effective plan B. Big mistake not taking him on loan again.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing isn't it?

Any discussion about this in July would have had a huge majority saying "thanks but no thanks".
