What's the deal with Barmby?

As for Kirkland, too injury prone. Cracking keeper if he could stay fit but that's one of the biggest ifs in football.

Sorry pal, but his contract doesn't need to be renewed. It already has a year to run. He's not out of contract this summer, he won't go anywhere unless someone comes in for him and pay a fee. I don't see that happening.

i dont think anything other than a nominal fee will be required to wrestle Ankergren from our grasp.

In fact I can see us paying part of contracts up to get rid of some of the players with a year left to run. Whatever numpty handed out all these 2 year deals, needs a rocket up their arse. Whatever numpty authorised them needs a good talking too as well.

I think you're being wonderfully extravagent there. I'm a bit sceptical about the whole affair, but I can understand the wisdom of rewarding the players who took our club into our glorious new home as a Championship club. I would rather have players like Navarro, Ankergren and Barnes (forgive me the use of him as an example) in the squad than some Johnny no-mark who doesn't care about the club or who hasn't done anything for us. Even if they're just the back ups for next season, it's better to have these players and people with no affiliation with the club at all. Plus, these players will be cheaper than those we're chasing...

Okay, so we'll keep all the players who know the club and are cheap then. With that way of thinking, lets hope we avoid relagation next season.

Could it have been that John Stephensons decision and part of the reason he's no longer in the employ of the club.

You're thinking along the same lines as me although I thought it might be Ken Brown. There were several contract extensions last summer which weren't announced unless it was a clause saying that an extension would kick in if we got promotion?

Barmby has been sacked. Its possible but its whether or not we can pay the wages. If we can get him fit he would be a certainly good addition to a strong Championship side looking for Premier League football in the next couple of seasons !

I would steer well clear of Kirkland... you need a 'keeper that is going to be playing all or most of whole season... he is just too injury prone, and always has been, sadly for him...

I would prefer to sign Hulls current keeper Rossa sp? he had a great game against us at home, they can have Kirkland and his dodgey cap.
