Only 30 years old and I believe his contract runs out this summer with Wigan. However, I hear that he is training with Hull City and he will be Barmby's first signing for the 2012/13 season.

Would you have him at the Amex next season? I hear also that he is Injury prone and suffers from Back Spasms...

How would i know?I'm pissed.
Barmby was suspended by Hull yesterday, so this may all change.

Doubt Barmby will be signing anyone at the moment...or has that little situation been resolved?

Kirkland has always suffered with injuries and never really turned out to be the keeper everyone hoped he would be. I like Dorus De Vries, and presumably with a Swansea background he'd fit in with Poyet's philosophy well. Not sure what his contract status is with Wolves, he's spent a year as their second choice keeper but I'm guessing he's on a 2/3 year deal. Would be interesting if he could be tempted by first team football.

A fit Chris Kirkland is a Premier League goalkeeper. The only question is whether he's fit enough. I would put him down as being a good signing though, we have Brezovan and Ankergren who are both sound number 2 goalkeepers, whichever one we retain is capable of playing in the first team so even having a goalkeeper who might struggle a bit with injuries, but who is better than them both, would be an improvement and a risk worth taking. Maybe only on a 1 year deal so we can assess his fitness though.

it's amazing how things can change in football.......kirkland was seen by many for YEARS to be a certain future england number 1, and now he's been released by wigan

if we can get him fit, he's undoubtedly a top goalkeeper, might be worth a try although he might want to stay up north

It won't be Ankergren

Hennessy wont be fit for the start of the season for Wolves so De Vries stands to be their first choice sadly as I agree that he would suit us

Rumour has it that he's been told that his contract won't be renewed

Sorry pal, but his contract doesn't need to be renewed. It already has a year to run. He's not out of contract this summer, he won't go anywhere unless someone comes in for him and pay a fee. I don't see that happening.
