Allemania Aachen are a fantastic example of how to create a great atmosphere without a roof. OK, they have an advantage in that about three quarters of the ground is terracing. I should add that they also DO have a roof over the stands going down either side. However, both ends behind the goal are open, and the "home" end makes an awesome noise. If you have a look at their web site you'll see some great atmospheric shots of the ground and the support - loads of flags, scarves, banners, flares, etc, etc. The reason I know all this is because my sister in law lives in Aachen. We'll be going to their home game on 24th October, and I hope to be able to cheer a goal for big Chris!
