Chicken from Thailand .. can you understand it?!

Recently purchased a chicken sandwich from a well-known supermarket (who has adopted our blue and white striped pattern for their carrier bags!) .. to discover that the chicken contained therein originated from Thailand!!

Do we not 'grow' chickens in this country anymore then? I don't get it!

Thanks for the heads up. In future I will make sure to check the labels. Don't fancy the idea of eating chicken imported from Thailand. Would prefer chicken from the UK for two reasons. The product will be more strictly controlled, and secondly we are hopefully supporting British Farmers.
