Peveril just creeped in for the each way 4th thankfully!

 a stunning £3.94, easily my biggest win of the year, just need to make up the rest with the last race. Balance is £4.02, just need Pigeon Island to get placed in the 5.15 and I'm sorted for a Number 23 and some prawn crackers this evening

Deep respect to anyone who made serious money this week, it was bloody hard work. Imperial Commander got me out of the deep doo-doo, but if it hadn't been for backing a ridiculous series of winners on the all-weather at Kempton and Southwell, I would have been buried beyond resurrection.

When it comes to what makes racing unique and compelling, I thought the Gold Cup was as good an example as anything I've seen for years. It was a play in several acts that was all packed in to just seven minutes. The fence that Kauto Star smacked first time around was the same one where Denman started to find his rhythm after putting in odd little half-strides at the first few. Ruby somehow stayed in the saddle, and Kauto stayed on his feet, but the effort took all the fight out of them. Then it was down to Denman, and whether he could pound the finish out of Imperial Commander, and the winner took everything he chucked at him. It was a privilege to watch it.

My Goliath was do or die today, and, amazing, I won. :clap2:

3 winners and 5 no-hopers.

Obviously, not all of them at Cheltenham. But I did have Imperial Commander in the Gold Cup, I just had a feeling it wasn't going to be Kauto Star's day when a guy punted £500 in our shop on him. Just wasn't going to happen for him from that point, the guy is a classic numpty.

Also, it was guaranteed Kauto Star was destined to fail when CHRIS KAMARA backed him. :jester:

Think Alan Brazil was on the favourite too. That's a double penalty if ever there was one.

I spent the day down there yesterday.
I did 2 or three horses each way in every race, except the GC in which I had Denman to win.
I didn't have so much as a single place. Not one pick up.
The closest I came was in the first race, when I made a mistake putting the bet on, gave them the wrong number and my original selection won at 14/1. Should have taken this as a hint of things to come.
I managed to blow close to £200 and that ididn't inlcude behind the bar because the queues to get a drink in the Tatersalls were a joke. Oh and it pissed down with rain.

And as if to make matters worse, yesterday was by far my best day on fantasynags and I didn't back a single one of them on course. What a fkg tw4t! :shootself

Yesterday was quite possibly not the best day I've ever had at Cheltenham.
