My point is that the gk top isnt distinctive from the outfield players although a close up on TV shows it to be dark Blue not black. I think that his top and the Wednesday kit all look awful.

It looks diffetent enough to me and the FA.

To be fair referees are much more relaxed now in the past just a clash of stocking colours was enough for a referee to request a kit change

In my younger days keepers jerseys had to be either red, green or Blue and yellow was reserved for international matches. I think Peter Bonnetti was the first to change that in this country and wear Black. possibly in a European Cup Winners Cup game,where it was permitted.
