It was £16m at the beginning of the year - we have no way of knowing how much has been injected by RA before sanctions were imposed.

under sanctions, the cash assets from the sale would be frozen. unless he moved them to a Russian bank, which are a) embargoed and b) ruble is toast. really this is just more theater for public consumption.
it does highlight that similar complex rules must be applying to many other business those sanctioned own. which of course is the point, and some will close and consequences from that. if Chelsea go into admin and get a points deduction, no one can complain. a lot seem to relish the prospect.

Would/should a frozen asset of a sanctions target be allowed an overdraft which is effectively a loan? I would like to think not.

Defenders Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are all out of contract at the end of the season.

If the PL had any sort of moral compunction they would see this as a watershed moment and ensure that all owners, foreign or uk based were genuinely fit, proper and could demonstrate that their funding was generated by lawful means. It should mean an end to the likes of Man City, Chelsea, Everton and most recently Newcastle being funded by nations and individuals who don’t share the values of the communities they inject themselves into - free speech, free press, inclusivity etc etc. I know there are legal issues, I know there are grey areas but we all knew Chelsea’s money stank and we all know that is true of others. I am not holding my breath though…..

Let’s hope that the vast majority weren’t season tickets holders either! Getting a home ticket will prove a big challenge.
Depends……once sanctions are in place basically OFSI have to supervise/approve anything so would need to fully assess reasons, source and application of funds, repayment arrangements etc etc. Impossible for any of us to be certain what can and can’t be done
