U23s still rather disappointingly playing like Hughton teams more often than not - defending deep, bodies on the line - and not just today either. Whatever happened to that plan (dating from Poyet's arrival, I think) where all teams played the same way all the way up through the age groups; a coherent policy.
Whatever, it doesn't seem to have reached the U23s yet. Does Potter spend any time with them - either the players or the coaches or both? It's as though nothing's ever changed in the football style down there! The most enjoyable thing from today (and by heavens, there hasn't been much of that) was seeing Chelsea youngsters putting in a performance like our first team - dominating the match, attacking most of the time, hitting the woodwork again and again, coming up against a GK who was having the game of his life and generally doing everything but score!
The only thing they failed to do to be a perfect tribute act was conceding a last minute flukey goal!
