I read a report in the telegraph a couple of weeks ago. Apparently Ikea are charging people to park to encourage shoppers to use public transport and this reporter successfully carried his flat packs home on the bus/tube.

It did however take him something like three hours longer than if he went in the car and got loads of flack from the other passengers

Taking flat packs on the underground isn't a problem aslong as they aren't too long/big which could mean the blocking of the main doors or inter-carriage doors. You'll find most station staff wont let you thru the barriers with anything over 7 foot in length (for the love of God no lewd comments Gunter ;))

As long as you can safely manage the pack and it isn't considered a danger or hazard then you'll be ok.

Luckily here in Brighton we have our very own MIKE EAR who take out a quarter page in the poncey Latest Homes glossy to advertise their 'Collection/delivery ordering service for IKEA goods'. And I quote:

'Tell us what you want, and we'll deliver it. Simple as that. No traffic. No queues. No rows. No hassle'

Marvellous! :lolol:
