Charlton - Surely 1st 8k + gate for some time?

Got something to say or just want fewer pesky ads? Join us... 😊

Seems a way off, but this fixture is 2 weeks TODAY!

I would expect the away end to sell out, and there should be a cracking post Christmas atmosphere in a packed withdean for this one. Would expect the home end to sel out before Christmas.

Could really be a key result....... Surely no one is expecting similar to the 4-0 thrashing at the Valley?

Only 464 tickets remain

A Block - 1
H Block - 7
J Block -155
W Block - 301

It's a must win game to be honest - I'd be happy with 1-0 through a dodgy penalty decision, If we have anyone capable of scoring a penalty that is.

Should sell out... our fans really need to get behind the boys as this is defo a true 6-pointer...

It'll probably be the first 8k+ gate since Southampton at home last season, where they sold out their end. Cracking match that was.

Driving past Withdean this morning, the pitch was completely frozen and it's going to have to start warming up by Tuesday for the game to be on !

Will there be a pitch inspection on Wednesday afternoon before most of the Addict fans have set off for the game ?

I would LOVE to know how you could tell the pitch was frozen simply by driving past Withdean

I don't doubt for a second that the game will be in some doubt, but you must have some kind of spidey-sense if you can tell us it's frozen just by looking from a car. Even a covering of frost- which I assume is what you saw, doesn't affect the game, it's the ground itself, not the grass that is the problem. You can only test if the soil is frozen by walking on it, or sticking your keys, Tony-Greig-style, into it.

It is supposed to warm up a bit by the end of the week, but whether that will defrost the ground as opposed to just the surface, who knows.

Doesn't take a genius to work out the ground will be rock solid as things stand. Hopefully will warm up a bit although maybe not the best game to come back to with Charlton playing today and meaning if they beat saints they can beat us and go top

Badly want a game but being called off won't be a disaster in the grand scheme of things IMO

Surely the referee will ask the groundsman to test the ground with a garden fork to tell if its still frozen underneath the surface.

Forecast is for temps to rise DRAMATICALLY by Tuesday so game on Wednesday will definitely be on.
