Worthing
Think you’re right. I also wouldn’t be surprised at all if it’s already been arranged for Ronaldo to go ‘on loan’ to one of the clubs competing in the CWC mid-tournament to gain some hype for the competition, considering the poor ticket sales and the lengths FIFA went to to ensure Messi would be there.
Ultimately it will come down to the fans to finish these ridiculous decisions made by FIFA. If it about making money to expand the games in poverty stricken areas then we’d let it go…,,, but it’s not about that is it ?

Exactly that.

Apparently only 25k tickets sold for the opening game (Al-Ahly vs Messi 🫠) and it's being played in the 65k seater Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. They've been slashing prices to as low as $20 for some games and are still getting barely any uptake.

The swathes of empty seats would be a dagger to the heart of any normal person that had presided over this nonsense but I don't think Infantino has the necessary faculties to feel embarrassment.

BRIGHTON SIGN KOSTOULAS

We are delighted to confirm that Charalampos Kostoulas will join the club on 1st July for an undisclosed fee, subject to the satisfactory completion of all necessary regulatory processes.

The 18-year-old Olympiacos striker will pen a five-year deal with Albion.

Head coach Fabian Hurzeler said, “Charalampos is an outstanding young player and we’re delighted he is coming to Brighton.

“He wants to play in the Premier League and we are excited about what he can bring to the team.

“He will give us different attacking options and we’re looking forward to helping him adapt to his new environment.”

Kostoulas graduated through the Olympiacos academy and last season helped them win the Greek league and cup double. He scored seven goals and provided two assists in 35 appearances across domestic competition and the Europa League.

He has also scored five goals in 15 appearances for Greece at under-16 to under-21 level.

He is the second Greek teenager to join the club this year after 19-year-old Stefanos Tzimas signed in January, before spending the rest of last season on loan with Nurnberg in Bundesliga II.

Wow, he looks and sounds very mature for 18 (just 18 too). Very switched on to what he wants to achieve.

I like him already.

Was also a bit confused as to what Tzimas was doing there (in June) but presumably it's injury treatment.
