On a serious note, presumably the key word in this massive fee is 'package' and a lot of the fee is potential add-ons. Maybe we're happy for the price to be talked up on this one to keep others away.

JPVH, Dunk, Webster, Igor and Boscagli - should be enough. Plus Veltman if push really comes to shove (and Baleba if there's a humungous crisis!)

The problem with that line-up is that the players are too similar.
JPvH, Dunk and Webster are of a very similar profile. Two are older and now suffer from regular injury issues but other than that, they are much of a muchness.
Boscagli is primarily a left footed, deep lying playmaker. Perfect age. The jury is obviously out on his defensive capabilities in the Premier League.
Igor is a bit of an all rounder but rarely has a goal, assist or attacking pass in his locker. No genuine pace, no long pass game and (thinking about Man Utd at home in the 23/24 seasons) has a mistake or two in his locker.
So overall, our centre back lack the following:
Pace.
Youth (just JPvH).
Elite defending (in the Van Dijk or AWB mould where they are rarely beaten).
That said, I'm sort of happy with each one staying on an individual level. But if I had to pick one to go, it would be Igor. And only if we can recruit to the gaps in attributes we currently have.

All Delap had played was PL 2 football along with Palmer I not sure the league they play in is the only barometer the club uses. Of course it might not work out but if it does then happy days.

Good point. I’m assuming Dwayne has built a competitive (more successful) company than Starlizard and is currently posting from his super-yacht, at this moment moored in Monaco. My amazement rarely ceases to be sated when reading the abject ramblings of the ill-informed on NSC; confidently stating what Bloom is missing - usually something bleeding obvious.
I read recently on a work trip to the US that around 39% of talent ‘acquisitions’ in sport successfully deliver the expected outcome for the acquiring team / club.
Perhaps people like Dwayne operate (with obvious delight) with such confidence because they are actually largely mentally challenged to understand the data.
‘Failure’ is abstract by its very definition. It’s subjective. People of a low intellectual capacity typically cling to and therefore pedal narratives or ideas that have to be binary. Nuance and context is beyond them.
Both the words and the grammatical construct of the sentences that Dwayne uses would suggest that the ability to reflect, think and engage in interesting discourse is well beyond him.
This Greek kid may be the second coming of Zeus. He may be awful. He may fail here and be a stellar success elsewhere. Who knows?
I’d suggest Dwayne doesn’t.

Whilst I agree, this forum's very purpose is for people to share their thoughts and opinions.
As such, even though I'm always a glass half full kinda guy, I think people like Dwayne should still be entitled to their miserable and incorrect opinions.

Completely agree. I have never suggested his ramblings should be censored or that he has no right to share his opinion. Debating is tough - especially with idiots, as they tend to bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Every league is shit according to Dwayne when it fits his argument. I’m sure he’s called the Dutch league such before but now it’s a reasonable standard to further his argument that these Greek lads will be pony.
And £25m for Gruda. Simple fact I imagine is that we can now afford to make 'lower risk' and/or 'higher upside' purchases in the 18-22 ish free bracket. We are no longer buying cheap youngsters in the hope we can just turn a profit, we are buying players with 'World class' potential, some of whom will hopefully be able to reach this level and take us into the CL bracket of clubs.
