Now also being reported by Ornstein, who says Olympiacos are expected to reject the bid of £30m plus Sima.
Nope. Misremembering which has certainly come to me.Are you confusing "Watford" with "us"?
I'm grateful for them. I already know that the Joao Pedro red card was so la plage could be sampled and that he won't be turning up for our remaining two fixtures, and will be intrigued to discover who's staying or going as a result of these experts en langage corporel.Don't worry about it. Wait until after the game on Monday. All the body language experts will be able to tell us who's staying and who's going.
Ah but that nice Mr Marinakis has had to put all his Forest shares into a blind trust to ensure compliance with UEFA rules in the event both his teams are involved in European competition next season, which means he's not allowed any say in Forest transfers. And an honourable, law-abiding gentleman like him will most certainly abide by those rules 100%, I am sure. One negative fact for making a deal is that the owner of Olympiakos, is also the owner of Not.Forest, so he will try to squeeze any other PL team.
Someone could also ask why doesn't Nottingham buy him , a practise that Marinakis loves (to laund...transfer money through his teams ).
Marinakis might be passionate about football, but as a human being he is very questionable-to say the least. An excellent read if you like crime stories :

Having said all that, as a 17 year old he is in the top 10 someone can buy right now. If he reaches he potential he is a steal, if not...but this is a risk with almost any 17 year old not named Yamal.

Well greek matters again, so I will try to shed some light
Even though he plays for our arch rivals I can't say something bad about the kid.
He is a huge talent with no limit if he continues to evolve like this.
In the 17-18 years old range, the biggest talents from Greece currently are : Karetsas (Genk), Kostoulas and Mouzakitis (both Olympiakos )
The biggest issue with players that young is if they will reach their potential and how you can evaluate them when they played in the Greek league.
One good indication is that Olympiakos has very good youth facilities and academy (and I admit it even though I hate their guts).
Biggest poof is that Olympiakos won the UEFA Youth League last year and the stars where Kostoulas (8 Games - 5 goals 2 assist) and Mouzakitis.
Furthermore even though just 17 he already had 35 games with the senior squad most of them in the starting 11.
He is very good technical both as AM and all striker positions. This is a good compilation and pretty recent clips :

Yeah but.............what's a Greek urnStill in Corfu at the moment and the hosts of our place cooked our meal last night. Hubby is a Panathanaikos fan and wife Olympiakos. They reckon he’s a star in the making!
- They describe Brighton as having lost their focused approach to youth recruitment. Previously known for smart, targeted scouting, they now suggest Brighton are "throwing money left, right and center" at young prospects.
- They reference Brighton’s recent signing of Stefanos Tzimas, who was immediately loaned out to Nürnberg, as evidence of a lack of a clear development plan.
Seems to be some suggestions we've gone in at 40m Euros plus add-ons.
Some coverage here:
I bunged the transcript into ChatGPT and asked it what they said about us:
Brighton’s Interest and Offer
- Brighton are confirmed to be bidding for Kostoulas. The initial reported offer was £30 million, later said to be rising to €40 million, which would be a club-record transfer for Olympiacos.
- Brighton's bid also includes a player, Sema, and at one point it was said to be in addition to the fee, not instead of—a sweetener to the deal.
- Some UK-based sources think Olympiacos should accept the offer, fearing injury risk or market changes, but the hosts believe it’s undervaluing the player, especially considering his trajectory and potential future market value.
Skepticism About Brighton’s Fit
- The hosts express concern about whether Brighton is the right movefor Kostoulas:

- The worry is that Kostoulas won’t get enough game time, and could stagnate, like Christos Tzolis did after a premature move to England.
Summary Sentiments About Brighton
- Brighton is admired for its ambition and spending power, but:
- There’s real concern about their project management and whether Kostoulas would develop properlythere.
- The tone is skeptical and protective of the player's trajectory, suggesting clubs like Borussia Dortmund might be a better fit due to a more structured and proven youth development model.
- Olympiacos are expected to demand a sell-on clause, but Brighton reportedly doesn’t agree to one, which is a key sticking point.
Brighton is in the race and offering serious money, but is not seen as the ideal destination unless they can prove there's a clear plan for the player. The hosts respect Brighton’s financial muscle, but question if it's the right environment for a 17-year-old Greek wonderkid to thrive long-term.
Final Verdict From the Hosts
Bollocks.Have to say, I see where they’re coming from. The club absolutely know what they’re doing and the project is absolutely right for what we need. But it’s hard to argue with that point of view when you look at the downward spirals of Enciso and Ferguson, two players who were our prized assets 18 months ago.
But the loans are part of a development plan?
The manager had no interest in using either of them. That’s absolutely fine, but it’s evident. Fact is the way we recruit has changed from simply being an exceptional pathway for very young players. We’ve had to mix that in with more expensive signings, spending money on older players, Wieffer, Ritter and O’Riley for example. That’s what we need to do in order to compete at the level we want to compete at. But it also means we aren’t going to give a 17 year old unlimited time and unlimited chances in the first team to prove themselves, which may create some reservations.Bollocks.
Both suffered near year long injuries.
One is struggling to get back, even after the club loaned him to the club/manager he wanted.
The other is a greedy, play for himself, primadonna, albeit very a good player.
Your synopsis on Enciso is everything they are saying, the coaches job is to coach that out of him and make him a team player. It was happening and now it’s not.Bollocks.

Agreed but that’s why the 17 year olds are now £40m and not £4mThe manager had no interest in using either of them. That’s absolutely fine, but it’s evident. Coach what out of him? His entire game is based on it. When was it happening? I’ve seen literally no evidence in a Brighton shirt since he came back from injury that he was doing anything apart from playing for himself. Shooting from ridiculous positions, 1 in 10 go in. Norwich away being a classic. Rutter is literally his exact opposite.Your synopsis on Enciso is everything they are saying, the coaches job is to coach that out of him and make him a team player.
