Not sure how significant this will be really...

Premier League clubs have today agreed the dates for the Summer 2025 Transfer Window.
The window will open early, between Sunday 1 June and Tuesday 10 June, due to an exceptional registration period relating to the FIFA Club World Cup.
It will then reopen on Monday 16 June and close on Monday 1 September.

Transfer-window defining?

So it open shuts for a week and then reopens again why not just open it early!!

A cynic would say this is to give Man City a chance to rebuild their ageing squad but that would be suggesting they are treated favourably in addition to other matters like financial fair play charges which of course would be nonsense

Hmm.

Slamming shut twice in one summer.

Sky Sports News will be in their element with that one
Jim White is already polishing his hyperbole.

"Insane news coming in from Mansfield now. My contact from within Field Mill is telling me that Nigel Cough is about to complete what could be the signing of the summer. Stay with us as we break this titanic piece of transfer news"

Three hours and endless teases and trails later...

"As promised, gigantic news coming from Mansfield, it's confirmed, I repeat, confirmed that they've completed the signing of Bobby Window from Wrexham. The 17 year old joins on a free transfer on a short term contract. Wow. Astonishing. Thoughts, Simon?"

Likely playing with some FIFA/UEFA regulations around how many weeks the transfer window is allowed to be open (to prevent leagues from gaining "unfair advantages"). Guess it was easier applying for another week rather than two.

Anyway, would have preferred it if we had gone for ending the transfer window a day or two before our season starts - for both incoming and outgoing transfers.

Premier League tried that before for incoming signings. Clubs felt it put them at a disadvantage compared to other top level European Leagues as they still had another month to build their squads. So it was voted to end it pretty much straight away.

That's why I specified incoming and outgoing. Anyway, it would still be my preference!

Sussex but not by the sea
I was expecting it to state that City & Chelsea could buy who they like from whoever they like free of PSR in this club world cup window.

This club world cup is a corrupt sick joke. Income from it should not be allowed to be counted as part of PSR as it's a closed shop. I'd like to think all fans of other EPL clubs should boycott this nonsense.

Other leagues would still be able to buy players which would still put the PL at a huge disadvantage. I also think (but can’t be 100% sure) that preventing players moving to leagues with open windows would fall foul of employment law.

Not if outgoing transfers were also banned.

Then let somebody test it! Although I think their case would be weak; if within a transfer window a club just says no, we're not selling you that would have to be against employment law too. In many ways football isn't the same as 'ordinary' employment.
