Trying to be nice to the girlfriend making her a cd.

How do i make a cd? Ive downloaded 11/12 songs and brought some CD-R's. Then open the copy and patse all the songs files onto the cd then go to 'write files to CD' it seems to work.........but when i go to play it in my cd player it doesnt work.

The songs play fine on media player.

Im sure ive done it the exact same (for the old dear that time) way in the past and it worked ???

Cheers for any help

instead of copying and pasting the cd, select 'add to burn list' when you right click on the files.

Then, open windows media player, and hit 'burn'

Once the burning is completed....... the cd doesnt work in any of my cd players but it works on the PC through the cd???

Yet media plater says it should work on cd players through this way

Is there a 'converting' stage to the burn process on Windows Media Player (assuming that's what you are using?).

That's the bit that changes the files from MP3's to Audio CD files.

If not, I'm afraid i can't help - i'm no expert, but i've never had any problems that way.

Sounds like your CD players are copy protected, that's why your best off getting an low budget one as they can't afford to put the copy protection in

Don't use Media Player - download Real Player instead ( it's free ).

Then :

> Download all the music in MP3 format you want
> Put it all in one folder for easy access
> Insert a blank CD
> Your PC should ask what application you want to use, select Real Player
> There's an option on the dropdown list to select Browse
> Go to the folder highlight all the tunes and click OK
> Change the order of songs using drag and drop if you like
> Hit Burn and wait 15 minutes or so
> Hey Presto - a CD with CDA format music for playback in almost any player

*** Westdene Seagull does not condone the download or use of illegal music *** ;)

Eh? No such thing as "copy protected" CD players.

If you have used either real player of Nero then you do not have to worry about "finishing" as this all part of the process.

What it looks like is that either that you are either copying as MP3 files which your stereo cant read, or that your stereo is old and cannot read any copied disks.

If its the former and your CD player cant read MP3 files, then its fairly simple to rectify.

Use NERO to burn. Prior to actually burning, make sure that you click on audio file (not data file recording), click on a speed that is appropriate to your CD recorder (try a lower speed), but importantly, ensure that the file is being copied as an audio file such as WMA and not MP3.

You shouldnt really be making a cd of songs for your bird,

that is utterly gay.
