The BEST place for it is Amstelveen. Lovely ground in the forest, but only 20 mins from Damrak.

Went to see South Africa v Kenya there in the 1999 world cup. The entire crowd was wasted. In fact there was a bush at fine leg at one end that was enshrouded in smoke for the whole game... later that day Man u beat bayern Munich in the champ league final...

Bearing in mind this thread was last year, even now you can get a return for £100 or so.

Travelling on a Friday and returning on Monday will give you pretty decent fares. Travelling on a weekend is £100+ each way.

Just search for London to "Any Dutch Station", and you can find trains for £50 or so each way on a weekday.

My old man's going with his mates, and so would I be if I wasn't in Malia! Has 2 days in Amsterdam when we played Twente in December. I love it .
