There is nothing more boring than coming onto NSC to see things posted third or fourth hand off reddit by this bloke,

Oh I don't know.

I can think of various things that appear on NSC that are far, far more boring than that.

2 things struck me there. That dog was not agitated or defending itself, it was just being a CAUC. The cat taking its protective stance was not what many would expect. Yes they can be aloof, but put on the spot they can deliver surprises. As a kid we used to pretend to collapse in front of ours and she always came over and licked our faces like.

When police find corpses of people who have been dead for some time in their homes, they often find dogs who have starved to death too. However when the deceased owns a cat, it is usually alive and well because it has been feeding off its owners corpse... I suspect your cat had the same thing in mind.
