Apparentley the ex ICF nutter Cas Pennant was out and about in Brighton last Saturday evening, he was in The Albert on Saturday night talking to Brighton lads 'doing research' for his next book.

Did anybody else see him?

His book about the ICF was fantastic.
It had a chapter on Brighton, when West Ham rioted on the Friday night before the game.
Some of the stories were bloody scary, mind you when Dave the Gaffer turns up at Upton Park, I'm sure he'll run away.

I stood in amongst the ICF at Upton Park (1983) with a Albion shirt on and came way unscathed ...... Mind you Cas Pennat nearly broke my shoulder when he grabbed hold of me .. ...

I should point out that West ham were playing Leicester and I'd gone with my West ham mate ..... but it was

I liked his book on the ICf but it was very much 'we did this, aint we hard?'

The bit about half a dozen of them clearing the entire Holt End when in their teens is the stuff of legends. Thats how the ICF formed, before it was the Mile End Mob who were West Hams main firm and wouldnt let Pennant etc knock about with them.

Cass Pennant's 'Congratulations...' book is pretty good as is his autobiography. He co-wrote 'Terrace Legends' with Martin King (Chelski fan) and that is ok but repetitive as they ask the same questions to each person interviewed.

He has also co-written a book with Mickey Smith about pre-ICF West Ham Hooligans (skinheads, etc) and I thought it was crap.

I am currently reading through his and Rob Silvester's book: 'Rolling With The 6.57 Crew' which isn't bad and even gives a mention to Worthing & Littlehampton based Albion hooligans.

The reason I have (nearly) read all his books is because I get a lot of time when communting on the train to and from London.

Albion & England forever.
