I agree about Terry, his positional sense isn't the best and he's not particularly quick. I hope Campbell can get fit and back to form for the World Cup...

Mr Carrick....... is typical spurs too lightweight. How he can be compared to Makelele i'll never know.

Not really the point - the holding position isn't about size, it's about positioning and discipline, and at international level about an ability to distribute the ball efficiently and accurately.

Makelele, Xavi, Pirlo - all would be called lightweight by your reckoning, yet are world-class defensive midfielders. Carrick is the best we have in that position in this country.

Yeah but they are playmakers- England don't need any great passers of the ball, we have those already. We need someone to act as a defensive shield.

Carrick is good, but I see him more as a squad player and more useful for his passing than tackling.

Terry not good enough for international football? Great gag. So he can hack the likes of Henry but isn't good enough. He is part of the Premierships meanest defence ever (arguably) and he isn't good enough? If that's not a wind up that is a strange comment.

If he's Mourinho's captain, paid 90 odd thousand a week and received recognition for his efforts last year, I think he may just cope with international football

I think he has proved he isnt when playing at the top level - he isnt the first and wont be the last very good player not to be able to cut it at international level.

He has had a couple of bad games- doesn't make him a bad player.

He can hack it in the Premier League and the Champions League. And in the big games there isn't much difference between those and international football, with some exceptions.

He always plays well v Man U and Chelsea so he certainly had big game pedigree.

Terry got roasted in champions league when they played good sides
