Thought both were good this season, if Seb could be tought to cross more often rather than head up blind-alleys, or just drive for the box he would be a top quality player. Fruity hasn't been bad either, granted both of them have run out of steam a bit lately, but to coin a footballing cliche, it has been a long season.

Sorry to say I would not have them next season. Carole plays pretty stuff but often breaks down an attack by taking too long to get the ball over and often ends up passing back to the halfway line. His corners are very poor.

Frutos can hit the ball hard but cannot take a corner and is always dragged out of position and/or drifts into the centre leaving the opposition winger free range to attack.

I just don't think their style of play suits lower league football.

In my opinion they could both have big seasons in them next season. Emphasis will be more attack based next season as we will be a team expected to do well and win games, these players could be key, especially at home.

Frutos has definite ability, just needs to get a bit more involved at times; he can drift in and out on occasions. Carole I'm not too bothered about to be honest - plenty of tricks, but nothing tangible to show for it most of the time. If we could get money for him I'd sell fast.

totally agree, no way these guys are a waste, perhaps McGhee needs to learn how to best employ them if they are both around next season...

i appreciate people's comments about Carole's crossing, but it strikes me sometimes hes trying to find the perfect ball in rather than just lumping it into the box, where with strikers like CKR, Gatting etc we are never going to win it against some of the cavemen that play CB in this league...

Well said. Carole's first instinct is running at players and the lay-off and through-ball, not the cross. He takes (and often beats) players on the inside, not the outside. He is not an orthodox winger, hence why McGhee has experimented with him "in the hole" this season. We will have to think carefully how to best use him next season.

I'll never understand why the same people who loved Knight's little shimmies lay into Carole. Utterly bizarre. If you are going to champion flair players, you should at least be consistent.

On both players, we will also have to be manage carefully their playing regimen next season. An interview Frutie gave not so long ago made it clear that there were more rest periods in French football and less games for the player - in some ways their problems in adapting to British football are less extreme than El Turi's but they are there. But the experience of this season will do them no end of good.

If you believe Carole is the lesser player, and more dispensible, what makes you think someone will come in for him instead of (or maybe even as well as) Frutos?

I don't. But plenty on here do seem to believe other Championship clubs will come in for him. If so, I'd sell.
