Just had a look on the West Ham forum.

Early November they wanted to send him back to PSG as he wasn't physical enough for the Premier League. Late November his one-touch football was a joy to watch and he was their "best midfielder by far". After Christmas there were some doubts about his defensive contribution but he was great going forward. In February he was too expensive so not worth signing permanently. By March he was the most "nothing footballer" ever, too slow, too lightweight.

West Ham fans blowing hot and cold in quick succession over someone? Blimey.

His name is a ready made fish pun, not seen since the days of Craig Mackerel-Smith
Someone will probably have to roe the speculation back at some point, though

True. Although I don’t f-eel this transfer will get over the line.

Can't read too much into what the West Ham fans say but I do get the impression he's a bit lightweight, the typical diminutive Spanish midfield. Back in the 90s, Soleros were bigger but they're tiny now after years of shrinkflation

Indecisive, one for the panel

Well he wears number 4
He's a guy we adore
And the way he plays is way beyond compare
How could I chant for another (oooh)
Now we have Carlos Soler

The first 2 lines are to be amended based on shirt number. Number 17 would be ideal
