Cardiff Ticket Cock-up

Why did we not do as Bristol have done.

They sold tickets to season ticket holders only today.

We should have sold tickets today to season ticket holders and AMS therefore those who support the club week in and weekout in all weathers would be able to get there tickets.

The club could then have sold tickets to Joe public who's only game of the season it will be.

My mate(a season ticket holder has been at the club shop for nearly 6 hours now and it makes a joke of rewarding the bread and butter supporters of the club.

I also understand that one person got 55(YES 55 tickets) This cannot be right. A lot of the shirts I saw as I drove past this afternoon were Chelsea shirts.

I rest my case

That wouldn't work, as I understand there are 14,000 AMS members. So the queues would only be marginally shorter than they were today.

Look at it like this. The ticket office is used to dealing with substantially <7k tickets per match (when you take into account that most seats at Withdean are held by season ticket holders like me), with a lead time of several weeks. Now they are being asked to sell 30k tickets in a week!!! Bit of a difference in scale there!!!

that could have been us lot, who DID queue from the beginning, and WERE standing by the side when the money was being handed in. we just needed a guarantee that we were going to sit together, it wasnt just 54 people that couldnt be arsed to show up.

We got 54 tickets but 95% of us are season ticket holders

Re: Re: Cardiff Ticket Cock-up

There is no point blaming anyone for buying 55 tickets - there was no limit so it is perfectly OK.

Blame the system not the individual.

I suspect the 55 tickets were for friends who wanted to sit together - problem ?

I was stating that the system could have been fairer to all concerned. The roumer going round the people waiting was that 1 person had purchased 55 tickets

How about season ticket holders and AMS members who have talked casual fans into going? On our coach of 35, more than 50% are what could be called fairweather fans, just maybe they will become ardent fans when Falmer is built? We all want to sit together so we need to buy our seats together.

The hysteria involving tickets sales will be seen to be exactly that as we struggle to sell our full allocation imo.

how many threads do some of you guys need to f'ing moan and moan about this? basically, people who've made the effort have got tickets. bha fans who organised themselves will not be ticketless. what is the problem? block bookings enables people to sit together, especially for people like myself who had a friend get my ticket with friends from back home. even if some non-regulars have queued to get tickets, how can you complain when they've gone to the effort of organising themselves and queuing when some bha fans haven't? that's not the fault of the casual.... which by the way, are the same people that you probably quote as our numbers when boasting about the potential support of this club and reasons why we need Falmer. you cannot have it both ways. nobody should be disappointed with 30,000 tickets on offer.

Kevin, if all the people in our group of 55 had turned up to buy tickets individually your mate would be waiting a LOT longer than six hours to get his.

Oh, and you say you saw "a lot" of Chelsea shirts? How many exactly? 2 or 3?

Its just as bad with our ticket system , i waited 4 hours to get my ticket today! The stewards were bloody useless as well. And it seems that they wont sell seats in the middle of the ground (the best seats) because there reserved for fa officials and players , arent the fans more important. Its an absoloute farce!

I am glad you said that because our fans seem to think it is all Brighton & Hove Albion's fault.

Both clubs are doing their very best with limited time and a lot of staff working their socks off all weekend.

I agree there has been too much moaning. A lot of fans got themselves organised (like the season ticket holders -all 55 of them) and got one person to go or else got out of bed early and queued from dawn.

It's not a farce - it's the beauty of the play offs - limited time to sell tickets, massive interest from supporters, the Club can say "look at the demand - we need a new stadium" - and adds to the whole experience. Those that can and could get down there will get/have got tickets. Those that have thought the process through and have arranged for others to get tickets for them will get tickets.

I queued for three hours today on behalf of myself and nine others. Saw 1 Chelsea shirt, on a girl probably no older than 7/8.

Yes it was hassle getting to Withdean (I live just under an hours drive a way) and yes it a long time to queue and then drive back.......

but I want to go to Cardiff.......

And I am.

Hey, don't criticise a 7/8 year old girl for wearing a Chelsea shirt, at that age I had a scarf from the very same team, it was given to me by my nan at a time when I knew nothing about football, it wasn't until I was about 10 that I saw the light. The rest as they say is history.
