Two 4th place finishes in the last 2 years, and they want to ditch Jones ? They were within a whisker of automatic as well. OK, they fell at the final hurdle again, but from the outside looking in I think Jones has done a brilliant job there.

They can forget Gus, obviously, but I think they should be very careful what they wish for.

As in "please stay off the pitch..."?

Poyet is adamant that is something he will not be doing.

"No chance," he added. "I can promise I will never apply for a job during my time at another club, especially at a club like Brighton where I'm so happy to be.

"It would be really silly on my part to apply for any other job."

It's one thing applying for another job, it's another being approached.....

I'm sure he'll stay put for a few more years yet.....

Jones has been there quite a while now and they've bottled promotion numerous times, I wouldn't be surprised if he resigned.

Not saying he would, but it's easy to get round that one. He just tells his agent he's interested, agent tells club, club invite him for interview - therefore he didn't apply for the job.

Gus only wants to play for a club that has Premiership ambitions.

Cardiff fans don't want Premiership football - its a requirement for Premiership clubs to have all seater stadiums and Cardiff fans are doing their best to ensure that they can't get promoted, even if their team were to be good enough.

I know this might seem like a strange one, but I think it could work, but how about Gazza? I know he has been away from the game for a while and has had his fai share of problems, but he knows his football and could well be the motivator we need down there.

haha
