Real clever. People who live near the stadium are getting more and more pissed off with people openly flouting the parking restrictions. They are gaining more support for their opposition to the extra seats at Withdean by pointing out to other residents that the parking situation is getting worse with every season with a 7,000 capacity.

Well said

Not back tracking just making the point Im not someone who parks in the exclusion zone and pisses people off.

I asked an honest question about parking in the car at the club because I honestly did not know the answer.

Always use the park and ride, was just asking if there was an alternative. Nothing wrong with that.

But I guess asking a question makes me a crap fan so I appologise.

Who said you were a crap fan? It's just the way you worded the questions implied that it was what you were going to do.

I does make you wonder why the Withdean car park is always full on match days.

Who do all the cars belong to?

I am assuming club staff, stewards, sponsors etc, but surely not all of them

I was thinking about parking in the car park if I was allowed. Might even have thought about parking closer just this once, just outside the exclusion area. Nothing wrong with that.

The stewards are there to stop people entering unless they are authorised to do so.

Why don't you just get the train (and replacement bus) and have a few beers? Either that or use the Park and Ride or if you want to avoid that, park somewhere like Preston Drove, outside the zone and walk the mile to the ground.

Bearing in mind the weather is going to be pony, a few beers is the way forward. Also what with your fasination with hoolies Richie, I would have thought you would be out and about seeing what was going on tomorrow.

My guess it people arrive before the stewards get there.

I'm sure if you turned up in a suit they would let you in.

The shoppers' park and ride service to the City Centre operates from Withdean six days a week, including match days. That's the explanation for most of the car parking.

Incidentally, it's not just that parking in the exclusion zone annoys local residents. Parking in the exclusion zone is monitored by the City Council and, under the terms of the planning permission to use Withdean, too much of it results in the Club being subject to a financial penalty.

And people complain about ticket prices?

Doubt it, they only give match sponsors a couple of spaces, then when you are turning up to get paraletic and abuse Martin Perry (joke) a car is pretty pointless.

Cheers Lord B.

That makes a bit of sense of it. The one occasion I turned up early and parked in the car park it was about 11 in the morning and I then used the park and ride to get into town.

Can you just clear one thing up for me Lord B (sorry to be a pain). If I get to the ground early, park in the car park and use the park and ride to town, am I actually doing anything which will a)get me towed away, or b)pissing the club off?

Just want to check first.

Players turn up in suits about 1pm.

If Richie has a shave he may pass for one!

I do normally. Tomorrow however I want to go into town first. The trains from Horsham down are not running and there will not be many replacement services early in the morning at the time I want to come down.

It will be a nigthmare to get parked in city centre and park and ride for football will not be set up at the time I come into the city.

Therefore I was planning on parking at the ground, using the park an ride into town from there.

What the f*** is wrong with that and why do I need to justify myself to people on here?

I've done that myself and not had any problems. But, then again, I know the Park & Ride supervisor, because I happen to be the bloke from the council who was responsible for setting up the Withdean Park & Ride scheme when it first started, some years before the Albion turned up.

If you intend using the P&R bus into Brighton, you are best advised to use the car park next to the Leisure Centre building (the entrance is off Tongdean Lane, about 100 yards west of the main stadium car park entrance).
