Back in Sussex
@Papa Lazarou's family and my family have been invited to a good friend's for the afternoon/evening - drinks and BBQ.

They are Palace fans. Lovely, lovely people. But Palace fans.

The lady of the house, who is chief Palace fan of the household, is always positive about Albion, and wishes us well. I struggle with reciprocation, never more so than today.

Just sit in the garden admiring the flora and drink a lot.

Jesus, this Is bloody horrible.
The one time I really hope City turn up but I've got a real bad feeling about it.

You may think they are lovely, but they are following my tried and tested social encounter routine that the Marquis de Sade would have nodded approvingly towards.

The key is to know just when to stop ladling it out before the first victim vomits.

New member, first post. Familiar subject.

No-one get that SE25 fragrance.....

Aren't new members given a few days before they can start threads ? At least, their first threads should be reviewed
A lot of places impose a post limit before threads can be started

Every time I watch a Palace game hoping for a heavy defeat they always seem to win so I won't be watching at all.
Actually can't remember the last FA cup final I watched anyway.

It's the FA Cup. I will be watching, sheding a tear when they sing Abide With Me, watching the teams walk out behind their proud managers…
The current Wembley is SHIT for all that.

Yes, the old Wembley had poor sight-lines for fans and the bogs over-flowed etc; but in terms of layout it just oozed pure THEATRE and the cup winner was usually settled in that long, long long walk the teams had to make from the vast tunnel to where they lined up meet the dignitaries.

Now? Well now Wembley is just another soulless bowl with loads of empty seats in the best bit of the ground for 25 minutes after half time.

Oh - and those ridiculous steps the winners climb to collect the cup, that bizarrely disappear into a service corridor before re-emerging by the Royal Box. What f***ing moron signed off that design feature?

Am going to the Eurovision thing at The Terrace with Mrs G this evening, for my sins. Sincerely hope they have a sensible Albion fan managing how they handle this... ongoing media blackout or a good celebration will be in order.

I haven’t missed a cup final in nearly 60 years and won’t be ending my streak today. I’m still a bit unclear about the way that Euro qualification works but if it’s the case that we lose the 8th place if Palace win then I hope they lose, and hope that all the other remaining results go our way. If it wasn’t for that I’d prefer Palace to win. I’ve just never been bothered about the rivalry. To me, Palace are like Everton or Wolves or Forest etc. Sides I obviously want us to beat but for their other matches I have nothing but a big shrug. Don’t care what they do really. Add in the boring recent dominance of City and I think it would be good for football to see City get beaten.

I will be watching. You all need to grow some balls and stop acting like children.
