Why isn't there?
The ticket exchange is for season tickets, where you are buying tickets for events with no guaranteed date or time at the point of purchase.

For cup games and away games where the date and time are confirmed, there is an option to pay extra to insure your ticket, if you are not certain that you will be able to attend.

Boring answer, but that is the rationale behind it.

Mansfield Woodhouse, actually.

You demean yourself. Your reply was concise and highly informative.
As the only alternative is yet another empty seat, I think the OP is morally justified in selling it (at no more than face value). It's not as if he's bought a season ticket intending to go to only 15 games. In fact, I would go so far to say that he is morally obliged to sell.

I've had to declare myself unfit to attend today and it really annoys me that I can't pass my ticket on to someone; my seat will be empty. I know several people who are interested in Albion but aren't currently committed enough to become Friends & Family members. Apart from me wasting money on a ticket I now can't use the club is missing an opportunity to expand our supporter base.

The insurance doesn’t cover scenarios where you’re just not able to attend (e.g. due to work, childcare, whatever it may be) btw, except for in a very specific set of provable circumstances. Ticket purchase insurance is one step away from a scam.

It doesn't cost anything to be a friend and family member all you have to do is register and get a fan number and then link that to your account.

And tbf there has been plenty of opportunity for STH or Albion+ members to have purchased guests tickets so, assuming you are one of those, you could have bought tickets for them.
