There were two very popular 'street artists' by Pier 39 in SF, who seemed to do well from the happy and generous Japanese tourists.

The Bushman - A bum who enjoys scaring unsuspecting tourists.

anyone remember Charlie "scissors" in Haywards Heath who used to earn his money by going round peoples houses offering to sharpen knives and scissors for a few pennies.

He used to live in a shed in the garden of a then derelict house on the edge of Victoria Park.... must have been late 70's early 80's

Yes, I do (I think). Went around on a very old bicycle. No idea what happened to him though.

Does anyone remember the old chinese lady down new church road? She always used to sit outside the house by the hedge by the pumpkin patch nursery in between george street and boundary road (around welbeck avenue?).

Local tale had it that she used to wait outside for her husband to come home, but she used to be out all day every day.

Who is the bloke who always wears a green Snorkel parka done up -even In Summer- to the top, with a rucksack on and carrying a stave often seen by me striding really fast at the Coldean lane end of Ditchling Road?

Every time I see him he is heading North, never seen him coming the other way, and at different times of the day.

That guy's been around for years. Something slightly sinister going on there, like the Phantom Flan Flinger on Tiswas.

Used to be another scary massive old bloke who used to ride the trains all day wearing a crombie and sometimes a bowler hat.

Or the guy that used to hand around Worthing on a roundabout just outside, dressed as a clown and waving to the cars (im sure it was that area but my mind could be going)
