I'm having to battle my son-in-law's family for my grandkids. An aunty bought them Pompey tops for Christmas.
I think my daughter should divorce him.

Not surpised really - Pompey are the real deal - proper fans - decent history - premiership club.

Boundstone have contacts with the club one of them being me - I took a small groups to the Tranmere and Forest games and I'm looking to run another trip to possibly the Oldham game. I don't know about the other schools in the area.

There are a couple of problems in getting the kids in - namely they need an adult to go with them (more if it is a bigger group) which can sometimes be difficult on Saturday when it is supposed to be a day off of work - it doesn't bother me because I go anyway but getting others to come can be problematic. Legal rules state that the teacher- pupil ratio is about 1:10 and if any girls want to go you have to get female teachers to go too which can be very difficult.

Secondly, there is the paperwork at the teachers end, as it is run as a school trip I have to jump through a large number of bureaucratic hoops just to receive permission to go which can be off putting to some and too much hassle for others.

Lastly, there are the kids themselves - I had 12 who pleaded to go and only 5 who bothered to pay any money for Forest trip, the others dropped out with various excuses.

It's all very well moaning about it perhaps a few of you would actually like to do something about it. BTW this is not aimed at the thread starter who did.

Well said Theatre. The risk assessments that need to be done now make it very off-putting and waiting around for parents who don't collect their children is no fun on your day off either.
