So you don't think we will be promoted then?
I'm not saying that, I'm saying that it looks incredibly arrogant and just calling for egg on face

Cocky we're going to win the league threads. I agree we're in a good position, but we've only played half our games...

Do we have many of such threads?
And anyway isn't this really just NORMAL from fans of a team at the top of their division?
I don't think you can discourage or stop this sort of thing, it's part of the fun for people who follow football - and it's a hell of a lot better to see than "we are going down" pessimism that had to endure a few times in the past decade.
Even some of the broken records like Withdean Wanderer and Complete Tadger have dissipated, evaporated away through all this heady success at the moment - not to mention the lack of reason to be pessimistic as the club heads towards a new Stadium era.
I still long for the obituaries to feature Archer's and Bellotti's names, but if we still had the Goldstone - would we be heading for a new exciting place to move, or making basic improvements to a lower-league-worthy old ground?
Roll with the punches, but ride the good waves for all you're worth. Doesn't that sound like a nice way to live life?
I am surprised and disappointed by the negative out look of some. Today marked the halfway point of our season, having played 23 games. We have achieved the required average of 2 points per game, are 4 points clear of the second place team who have played 2 games more; 5 points clear of S'oton who have played 1 game more and 11 points clear of the 7th placed team. Poyet has instilled a winning mentality, we are consistent and playing a different type of game from the rest of the other League One teams. Even when we had our recent blip, we were proving difficult to beat. Two of our rivals have just changed or lost their manager. In terms of upcoming fixtures, after the Bournemouth match the fixtures in Feb and March are reasonably kind to us, which gives us an opportunity to build on our present lead.
Yes, things could yet go wrong, but there are an awful lot of reasons to believe that we have a very good chance of winning automatic promotion. Re Bennett, i do not believe the club will sell him (or Murray for that matter), so i for one have a belief that we can win promotion with our existing squad.
