at home
At least 35 people have been killed in a multiple bomb attack on a US military convoy travelling through Baghdad

This is just getting out of hand and we haven't faintest idea how to stop it.

This is starting to look more and more like a Vietnam situation.

It is getting more and more shocking. We can only hope that the elections prove to be some kind of turning point. And that Bush and Blair are kicked out at their next elections.

So Blair is replaced by Howard - who also supported the war?

Plus ca change. etc, etc ....

The trouble is it now too late to pull out as any Brits left out there will get absolutely slaughtered and the troops are doing a lot of peace keeping.

If we pull out now there will be absolute chaos so we simply have to stay there.

Blair has majorly f***ed up over this :nono:

The UK and US are too worried about the stocks of oil to pull out.

Do you really think they are bothered about a desert of which thousands of people live in and is thousands of miles away.

Im telling you it's the OIL!

The mistake was going in as an Allied Coalition, rather than under the United Nations umbrella.

Howard did not actually lie to us, and does not continue with this smokescreen defence. I find Blair's current attitude despicable.

He said on Five Live that had we known then what we know now about WMD he would still have taken the decision to go to war.

i.e. He was going to go to war whatever, but needed the WMD arguement to look convincing to take parliament with him.

And I only know what I believe.

- what the stuff does that mean. As long as he believes something, regardless of the evidence to the contrary, it is a justifiable position.

- also someone made the point on the radio that one of the most important decisions a leader can make is to take their country to war. Well Blair wouldn't be able to do that if Hitler was found to be alive and preparing for an invasion.

If I was out there I would prefer to be at 20,000 feet. Respect to the bloke, but who would want to be in Baghdad or Fallujah.

Hey - don't let Dancing Ninja here you talking about this - you do-gooder. You should be discussing the state of the Brighton area's transport links.

(Sorry - still steaming from the Fox Hunting thread and the comment that local transport is more important that kids dying of AIDS in Africa)

Unless he is Regiment (Raf Regiment soldiers), I think you are more likely to find he will be going to Turkey or another of the bordering countries.

How many Airfields have The RAF got in Baghdad? being ex Raf, They will be deployed with the aircraft, and they will be based in a Nato Country,Turkey being one of em!

For Bosnia they were based in Italy!

I could of course be wrong!
