No, he falls over at the crucial time. Mind you he's had the shit kicked out of him a few times from their jealous partners, not to mention the black eyes from a well aimed handbag.

No way, it ruins everything, you may think you can still be friends but it just never works as one person will always want more to happen than the other.

I'm pretty much best mates with an ex-girlfriend of mine now, i guess thats slightly different, but we no each other inside out having been together nearly 2 years and its fine i still cook her dinner once every so often and vis-versa. Even dropped her off at the airport so she could fly to guernsey to see her new boyfriend (which i did actually regret doing a bit after). Not been awkward at all we didnt split up through arguing or anything. She is lovely looking though and i do sometimes think why the f*** did i split up with her! But you never no what'll happen in the future.

Got a close mate who i've fancied the f*** out of on and off for ages to (she looks like a younger version of sue barker- gorgeous) and im pretty sure she knows it but i no nothing would ever happen, probably for the best though i guess

I slept with my best mate and f***ing loved it.

We remain great friends to this day however.

Still definitely do it again if the situation arose, but most likely it won't but it's still cool

Thats different because you've been there done that, i'm friends with all my exes bar one. It's when it's 'the unknown' you've had a taster and you want more, that's when it gets messy.

Lucky i've never got into that situation, but i can exactly what you mean- if i ever did sleep with the girl i fancied (and im 99% sure it'd never happen! :( ) then i reckon id definately want more and then it'd get wierd!

Respect to Bluejuice though!

That must be uncomfortable. I did actually become good friends with a girl i met whilst working at summer camp in the US last summer, from south manchester near to where im living at uni. Went travelling with her after camp and everything, got on really well but just as good mates nothing would've ever happened. But soon after we came back i split with my girlfriend it all went wrong she got very obsessive and wierd, and then i found out she'd been looking through my emails (she saw me type it (edit- my password that is) in once in an internet cafe in miami), needless to say i've not spoken to her since! One of these days im gonna bump into her in manchester though on a night out or something, and im dreading the day i do!

I'm surprised some one didn't pick up on my rather poor choice of words before!

I definitely know women can compartmentalise relationships far better then men. Ms LC has a very close relationship with an ex. She’s always been able to keep him as a friend in this relationship. But when I first appeared on the scene he was a total c***. He tried every childish trick in the book. He only come to terms with the friendship relationship with Ms LC when he eventually got another girlfriend and now his wife.

And know he is sound!

As for me it really varies. Some women are just great at being friends, others there is some flirting and others, well….Safeway describes it perfectly.

Yeah course they can, most of my mates are blokes, and I wouldnt DREAM of going out with them.

I think it may well be a bloke thing. There is something genetic about the amount of times a bloke thinks about sex during a day (loads) compared to a woman (hardly at all).

I guess it's therefore inevitable that blokes who have female friends tend to think at various times, "would I?" and invariable at one time or another, the answer comes back yes, depending on how they look that particular day, how your love life is going and the units of alcohol in your blood.

BAG, so you wouldn't DREAM of going out with them, but they probably WOULD, m'dear.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I'm having some trouble in this field as we speak.
Suddenly started kissing someone perhaps i shouldn't. Now we're both in that odd state between friendship and something more and it's a foul limbo of murk and uncertainty.
Still, snogging is alright.
