another one that really fucks me off is when i either buy something or speak to someone on the phone that i have never met and at the end of the transaction or call they say "cheers mate" ,

Shiver me bumcakes Biggles it's hardly the crime of the frickin' noughties is it? People complain about the disrespectful and insolent society in which we live and here's you complaining about the opposite!

Did they end up getting what they wanted to get?

And can't we just forgive and for-get?

I so wish I lived the life of one of you folk, for whom this is worth worrying about.

have you thrown the equally annoying 'I so....' into that post deliberately? Guerrilla tactics there, very good. In fact, I am so loving it.

The more I hear middle aged English women (and some men, tragically) talking like bleeding iCarly, the more I despair for our society.

I'm not in a customer-serving job. But if I was, and someone said "can I get...?", I'd be mightily tempted to respond with "no its alright, I'LL get it for you, after all, thats what I'm HERE for."

.

But the correct answer would be

"Yes of course you can." and the promptly ask them to step aside so you can serve the person standing behind them

I regularly have people say "cool" when I've just told them what I'd consider to be bad news
