I dont go to many games these days an im not an Away membership scheme member thingy,Does anyone know if i can still get a ticket for the aston villa game?
Last game i managed to get hold of a ticket for was the West Ham cup game and i had to go through other sources for that, not the ticket office.

Can i just send in a payment now and ask them to send me a ticket when they get them?

Superfans are on their high horses..
You should be able to, but you'll have to pay a one off payment of a tenner to join the White membership scheme, providing STH's and Blue members don't take up all the seats.
No confirmation of how many tickets we have yet but it's looking to be around 6,000 so everyone that wants to go should get a ticket.

Does he HAVE to be in a membership scheme though? Say for arguments sake they've offered tickets to all the groups (STHs, Gold, Blue, White, Green, Purple, whatever) and there's still some left over. Would they then go on general sale or be sent back? In other words are the Membership schemes merely a way of prioritising sales or do you HAVE to be a member to get an away ticket?

You have to be a member to get via the BHA ticket office, If Villa decide to sell tickets on the day you dont need to be a member tho

So an AMS member that signed up FOR LIFE all those years ago should technically be alright... Sod all these fancy colour schemes that were just designed to FLEECE more money from fans.

The other issue will be how many tickets the Albion will be prepared to commit themselves to - bearing in mind that FA Cup rules require the away club to pay money up front for the tickets that are supplied to them. 500 unsold tickets @ £20 = £10,000 down the pan.

Si - i had exactly same problem before - just say you sent thm bac the form to transfer to a white member and they should switch it over. The fact a lot of us paid a £10 to sign up for LIFE should mean life - it's bllox - plead ignorant and you'll be fine - it's unfair of the club not to switch it...

Which is why this away scheme is stupid and stopping some fans going to games like this. The club should surely put any left over allocation on general sale. I had 3 texts from people who were asking about tickets who iknow aren't members - but if they had to pay an extra tenner on top it wouold surely putthem off - general sale on any left from the 15% is a must...

I'd hope that the club would use a bit of common sense in this situation; we've seen in big games at the Millenium Stadium, White Hart Lane and Upton Park in recent years that the part-timers (such as myself) love to come out of the woodwork for the big games. It's also worth noting that Barrow took a whopping 7,200 to the Stadium of Light, compared to an average gate of 1,500.

If we can't sell 6k tickets for a Saturday 3pm game against a Premiership club less than 200 miles away then how on earth are we going to get anywhere near filling the new ground?

Why all this speculation? Why dont we just wait and see how many tickets we take, and how the club intends to sell them?

They should definitely commit to the full allocation. As has been pointed out this isn't some shit third division trip to Walsall, this is an all-too-rare day out at one of Britain's top clubs and consequently will appeal to more than just the regulars.

Also I'm sure common sense will come into play. If the club don't sell the full allocation to the members of the various schemes I'm sure they'll open it up to general sale (even if it's just to people on the database) rather than send them back and lose money.

Why do you think? Some of us have to plan and we're trying to get all the information we can. Out of my group of friends some are STHs, some are in the other schemes and others (like me and my family) were old AMS members but never got round to converting to the replacement scheme. We need to know whether we can get tickets together, get them from Villa or sit separately.

Well I sent a friend into the ticket office to buy 4 tickets for the game at Norwich with my four family Away Membership numbers (now called White) and he was told he could only have 2 because the other two had lapsed through not being used for some time. I haven't been in to query this yet, but I thought they were life memberships.

We still went to Norwich though, paying on the day at Carrow Road.

when they say life membership of the scheme its not of your life . its of the life of that scheme. the new ticketing system means you have to pay again if you did not transfer it .

the question therefore is why didnt they simply automatically transfer all existing AMS into the White scheme? i know a half dozen people who didnt bother/know about the change and have not gone to games since. boo bad fans, but will they turn out for Falmer?
