Absolutely agree! I still have my corded vac that works fine, but I haven't used it for a year - just don't need it. Now keeping it for garage/grit etc.We recently moved from a bagged model to a battery-powered/cordless/stick one and it made a huge difference - mostly to our willingness to clean.
My recommendation is - whatever brand you get - get one that is cordless.
