My friends hoover just packed in it's about 10 years old, are Henry's still as good as they once were? Any others that should be considered?

One that's good with dog hair would be a bonus

Cheers

I have got a Henry and it’s the best vacuum I have owned, bought it about 2 years ago when it was on offer at Screwfix.

Miele C3 cat and dog is very good. Not cheap but worth the investment. If there are issues, their service is very good as well.

What type of vacuum are you after?
Bagged / bagless / upright / cylinder / mains / battery?
Price?

Shark, had Dyson and various others, and it's best by far......

The fact you have a load of Albion fans saying Shark is brilliant and Junior saying it's shit, just reinforces how good it is!

We have had a Miele which was very good but for dragging around the house on three levels was a bit of a pain.
The portability of a cordless Dyson has proved more practical. Some of the expensive ones are quite heavy though. We have one of the more basic ones, a V8 which does the job, it’s much lighter, and half the price of the newer versions, although probably only runs for 20mins on medium power.

Henry, had mine nearly 20 years, being dragged round building sites it's never missed a beat. They do a 'pet' one now, I think it's green in colour.
