Does no-one remember from the film, just as the song is finishing ANOTHER witch, far worse than the first one turns up?

This will only end badly

Who could have predicted that the mere mention of education would turn this thread into a grammar and spelling thread?

To make your sentence more effective, try not to use the word 'thread' twice. Try this:-

Who could have predicted that the mere mention of education would turn this thread into one about grammar and spelling?

Further proof, should any be needed, that the internet is a triumph of democracy over censorship. In 1977 the BBC would have announced that Ding Dong had made no. 2 in the charts and Rod Stewart oh so narrowly made no. 1. Interesting that they're still tying themselves up in knots over censorship even now instead of just reporting the facts and giving the tune equal coverage.

Not sure about more effective but definitely more elegant.

But the BBC are left wing socialist Thatcher haters surely they can't be trying to censor the song? The BBC described on here would surely be putting it on high rotation along with Maggies Farm, Maggie on the Guillotine etc etc.

Of course they're trying to censor the song. God Save The Queen? Relax? Same as it ever was. And as always they just end up looking like the exact opposite of the authorative impartial gold standard they are supposed to represent.

Blatant censorship even if they only play a 5 seconds snippet.

They think nothing of playing mysogynistic tracks, nothing at all wrong with tracks promoting drug use or crime. Ding Ding The Witch is dead is a great tune and a farewell from Thatchers many detractors and victims.

Play the ****er.

Typical left-wing BBC not respecting the free market choice of consumers! Thatcher would be most upset were she alive today. But if she was alive today, the track would not have received so many sales. Oops, am in a world of confusion. :drunk:

This is exactly the point! The singles chart is a market driven representation of the free purchasing choices of the nation. Nothing more, nothing less. For the BBC to misrepresent it by not playing this song would be interference from a centralised authority, something Thatcher was very much against!

As for the age of Thatcher's detractors ... somewhere I have a letter written in 1982 by my then 88-year-old great aunt, which is one of the most vitriolic outpourings of disgust at Thatcher's responsibility for the Falklands conflict that I have ever read.

someone should have told her argentina started the falklands war.
