Agree - but the collection is not only among the crowds at matches - Grimsby also trying to raise £700k by the end of the season - gather fans fromthe two clubs are in close communication

The only saving grace is maybe the fact that there are many VERY wealthy people who have links with Cambridge through the University and by that to the city - but finding a well-heeled academic philanthropist who also wants to buy a struggling football club, is another matter!

Im sorry but i have had enough of reading all this about helping other clubs - Do you not realise that Brighton are in deep deep trouble? In some cases worse off than these other clubs
Brighton have not even got 1/4 (from last count) of what the board was wanting from the A+k fund, so wouldnt it make sense to look after your own club first?

Just checking back, I now realise the day I refer to, the day less than 2 weeks ago was called 'Clubs in Crisis Day'.




The difference is so obvious. I feel such a fool.

Seriously, I think the point is there have been at least nine so-called Fan United days since 1997 and many other spin-off ideas to raise publicity, show solidarity and even raise funds.

Cambridge Fans United (an organisation in its own right) have decided to christen this one and good luck and all power to them!

Feb 04 Falmer Demo at John Prescott's office in the pissing rain
March 04 National Falmer Day (to Berwick Rangers and gave out over 500 leaflets and persuaded the chairmen of Berwick and Hamilton Accies to sign the Falmer petition)
March - April 04 Falmer postcards to 15 MPs also lobbied dozens of people to sign Falmer petition
April 04 Wrote personal letter to own MP (David Miliband) on Falmer - had ongoing and positive correspondence with him ever since
Oct 04 Made own donation to A&K fund
Dec - Jan 04/05 Bought 4 copies of Tom Hark and sent one to local MP
Dec 04 Went to Wrexham 4 Falmer match at Scunthorpe to show solidarity - beamed live on TV
Jan 05 Bought 2 Tom Hark T shirts for A&K fund
Jan 05 Clubs in Crisis Day (got about 15 radio slots (including 7 national ones where the Brighton and Falmer position was mentioned each time)
Nov 04 to Feb 05 Video auction on NSC and Ebay which raised £250 for A&K fund

Oh ... and attended a couple of dozen Albion games al over the country ....

so from that I hope it is clear that I do throw my weight behind saving my club FIRST!

There is nothing we can do about Prezza's decision. I hope and think it'll go our way. If it doesn't then I probably won't be very calm, but even so, we can't effect it so there is no need to get worked up. So chill out..
