Colin Calderwood joined Brighton as an assistant manager in February 2015

Brighton have agreed a compensation package with Aston Villa after assistant manager Colin Calderwood left the club on Thursday.
Former Northampton, Nottingham Forest and Hibernian boss Calderwood resigned from his post with Albion the day before they drew 1-1 with Villa.

Brighton have now confirmed Calderwood's official departure from the Amex Stadium, as they begin their search for a new assistant to manager Chris Hughton.
"Brighton & Hove Albion today [Saturday] confirmed they agreed a compensation package with Aston Villa, shortly ahead of last night's match, allowing for Colin Calderwood's release from his notice period this weekend," read an official statement from Brighton.
