Inigo*Calderon believes Albion can rise to the challenge of coping with Kenwyne Jones.
The former Sunderland and Stoke City powerhouse is the main threat to the Seagulls’ hopes of a result at Cardiff tonight.
Jones took his tally to 13 goals in 26 outings in Cardiff’s draw at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, including their equaliser from a free-kick at the Amex in September.
Albion conceded two goals from set-plays against Nottingham Forest, which Calderon says will put them on guard trying to deal with the aerial threat from Jones.
The versatile Spaniard told The Argus: “He (Jones) is a massive guy playing up front with Premier League experience. It is complicated to defend against him and I know that the players against him will know that.
“It’s another challenge. We are coming from bad defending from set pieces, so we know we have to be ready for that. We are coming from a bad situation with a good player in front of us.
“That’s perfect, another challenge. I like that.”
Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall, their saviour at the Amex five months ago, could make his first appearance since December after ankle trouble.
