Hendo/FDM - Either are decent although FDM has the edge for me at the moment.
Hart - I really think he does a decent job here but I seem to be the only one.
Lowe - Unsure, will have to see.
El-Abd - Looked capable at champ level, commited and a leader.
Lynch - Very promising young talent
Fraser - Would prefer someone with experience but I don't think Chippy performs in this role. On the other hand Lynch had his chance and took it, why not Fraser?
Reid - Slight gamble but if he imposes himself should do well.
Hammond - Given the right role could be a great goalscoring midfielder at this level.
Frutos - Probably our most talented player.
CKR - Or maybe it is this guy, should do well at this level.
GNW(please)/Gatting - Still raw but we need a player like him and if we can't get anyone in so be it.

I will happily admit we need a proper RB, DM and Striker but my expectation are mid table and I believe this team could achieve it. We also have Hinsh, Guy and Oatway to come back. I believe Mayo could do the Fraser role so maybe put him in there and then the rest of the squad with Carpenter, Robinson, Revell, Cox etc should make decent back ups. LI, if you say there is no evidence for Fraser being ready then there is no evidence for any of the youth being ready for their chance. There was no evidence for Lynch but sometimes you have to take a punt and trust from what you have seen that a player can do a job.

I was just making the best out of what we have and I believe it is a team that would finish mid table in what is a transistion year. I look forward to a distinctly average season!

I also think the last 2 pre-season results will help us. Beating Colchester will give the players confidence they can do it against decent opposition and the mK Dons result will have been a wake up call that they can't rest on their laurels.

It says on the TeamTalk page that Mark McGhee was set to offer him a short-term deal before they came in for him, is this true ???

I thought you were leaving early, Kinky.

Not good news. My optimism is slowly creeping to pessimism. The young lads will have to stand up and be counted.

Let us prove Alan Hansen wrong!

I wish?!

Newcastle United winger Martin Brittain is training with Kilmarnock as he continues his search for a new club.

Can't really blame him, The boy want's to get himself a club & he obviously does'nt want to hang around waiting for McGhee to make his mind up.

You don't just take a punt - that's what grannies do on the Grand National. You monitor their form and make educated judgments. Lynch was regarded as ready. But given the selections by the management team in the pre-seasons, it is clear they do not think Fraser is ready yet, in fact, Chamberlain seems further along the road if you're going to pick youth team central midfielders judging by the opportunities handed out in those games. But I thought it was clear from those games that he needs a loan deal sorted soon too.

Thanks for setting me straight on what a punt is. LI you talk like only you know how the inner workings of a football club go on. Of course I realise that you monitor their form and make educated guesses. My team is my subjective choice and and as I saw Fraser play about 12 times last year with the rest of the youth team I was making an educated guess on what I saw which also included ability, attitude, physical capabilities and mental strength not just form.

Also I said you have to trust what you have seen but that is a certain element of blind faith to introducing any youth player into the fold, no one is a sure thing. This is what I meant by punt and as I had the curtesy to be polite to you can you not make the patronising comments please. I don't want to get into an argument I am asking politely. I respect you opinion, at least it is well thought out, so please respect mine as I at least attempt to clarify and justify what I say.

Oh turn in the patronising shit, it's lame and gay all at once.

The point I was making was reasonably simple, so respect it without getting your knickers in a twist. What is the point about banging on and on about including Fraser when he didn't even make it into the second-string pre-season starting line-ups, like at Worthing or Bognor? This is Dean Wilkins coaching these teams - if he thought Fraser was near ready, he would be given 20 mins or so against the Colchester/MK Dons - he barely got 20 mins against Bognor. It indicates that good performances in the Reserves and/or a loan spell is his immediate target. By all means let me know if I'm misreading this situation.

Well don't do it then? There is no need. Banging on and on, I said it twice and even then I conceeded that Mayo might have to play there instead. Pointless debating with you, you just have to lie, exaggerate or talk to people like shit I don't even know why I bothered.

Do you speak to people like that in real life? Someone tries to have a proper debate with you, and you give it all that shit. Well done, you've shown your true colours. What an objectionable excuse for a human being.

Thought you'd be back here for the slag off

Nothing further to say on the subject of Fraser, central midfield options, etc though. Surprise, surprise.

You ruined the thread not me. I tried to debate it, you started the abuse. I will quite happily continue the debate if you accept that there was no need for your comments.
