It's getting a bit silly. They want us all to use the bus a much as possible but they keep hiking the prices when more people use them. Goons. It's cheaper in london for f*** sake.

I wouldn't mind if the bus was quick.

The time it takes to travel the distance, I can cycle in half.

At a time when crude and oil product prices are falling not insubstantially (although they're still much higher than, say, 1-2 years ago) that's a very hard one to justify.

LONDON: Cash fares on the Tube and buses are to rocket by a third. A single zone 1 Tube journey will soar from £3 to £4. A cash fare on the bus will go up from £1.50 to £2 next January, the Evening Standard has learned."

Just what I was thinking. The fuel prices up here have dropped by about 10p a litre in the last 6 weeks.

Brighton = rip off. No two ways about it. Same journey distance journey in Manchester costs about half. That surely can't be right.

Bus fares in Brighton are great value for those who travel in from the outskirts of Sussex (as far as they cover) and use a multitude of buses, but if you live in town and need to get a bus, they are very pricey indeed.

To be totally fair, that's got more to do with Ken getting people to use Oyster cards instead of cash. Fares using them aren't going up.:geek:

I particularly recommend going from Leicester Square to Covent Garden on the Piccadilly Line. It's only 0.16 miles on foot. Making that £4 tube fare worth every penny.

its times like these where the advancing coutries like Prague can teach us a thing or two, their public transport system is highly efficient and also the flat fare of no more than 50 pence allows you on any bus, tube or tram for 75 minutes, which is plenty of time to travel from one side of the city to the other as it is so quick!

Don't forgot the added wait for the lift to make it really worth while.

:D

If you choose the stairs you'll probably feel more tired than if you walked.

No....you WILL feel more tired.

How odd. If you add Brighton and Hove buses to a monthly London Travel Card (like wot I does), it only adds £35 to the price.
