Perhaps its a target man, come defender/keeper and winger!

Didn't you say that yesterday?

The club told us they were close to signing a targetman...three years ago so we are getting closer, probably

Re. left back. Lynch will play there once centre backs are fit.

PG

Waste of a talented player the if we play him at leftback. Leave him at centreback and sign a leftback. We haven't had a half decent leftback since Harding left.

But if we are struggling to do that, then he is the next best option.

A big dutch man is hoping to end speculation about his Brighton exit by forcing his way into Mark McGee's thoughts against Boston tonight.

The 32-year-old has been at the centre of intense speculation linking him with a move away from the Withdean Stadium, with Bostonand Bognor Regis both admirers.

Having been recalled to the park bench for Saturday's sulky tramp love-in Kuipers is likely to be handed an increased role in tonight's League Cup first round clash.

Although "flattered" by the interest of other clubs, the Goalkeeper is keen to stake his claim for a regular start under Wilkins

"As far as I know, my immediate future lies at Brighton and I will just look forward to taking the chances when they come," Kuipers told the Argus.

Yahhooo peace in our time.......................at last!!!

"It's not unsettled me in any way. If anything, it's flattering to know that other clubs are interested in me.

"I don't think the manager wants to get rid of me, that much seems clear but I've got to get on with it and take what ever chances come my way. I just want to play as much football as I can.

Yes he is the next best option. But I don't beleive we have made enough effort to sign a leftback. We have concentrated on getting a goalscoring targetman and with a club of our means this less aceivable than signing a leftback.

Who has been better as a leftback since Harding left then?

I think you missed my point, I don't think Harding was a decent left back. So the real answer would have been we haven't had a decent left back since "Insert Name" left

Lynch. I never regarded Harding as much of a leftback.

Lynch is less of a leftback than Harding is. I noticed last season that Lynch looked out of place going forward in his leftback role.

I notice that Harding is now playing for Ipswich in a higher league at leftback.

In fact I heard a story from a bloke that sits in front of us that Tony Adams had phoned up Dean Wilkins to talk about Lynch.
He said in the convesation that what the hell was McGhee doing playing Lynch at leftback, it would ruin his progress as one of the best young centerbacks in this country if he continued to play him there.

I said in my original post "we haven't had a HALF decent leftback since Harding left".

Only problem with that is that Tony Adams is clueless with players, witness his spell at Wycombe. Joins a very long list of great players, shit managers. If Lynch is that good he will be able to play lb or central defence at this level and seems to have proved that by doing a reasonable job at lb a division higher at the end of last season.

Thierry Henry was a winger, lucky Adams wasn't overseeing that one when he was moved into the middle?

Is NSC that wise that they can categorically state that Lynch will not make a great LB, what if he goes to a team with better CBs than him? Just not play him ?

The last decent leftback we had was Ian Chapman IMHO.
