Worthing
People are ignoring some key shifts in the market here. It's about content not platform. It's no coincidence that with the advent of BT Sport, Sky Sports content (via Now tv) is now available to all on a pay per view, and no contract subscription basis.

Price models for this will probably become more flexible over time.

BT Sport will also make their content available across platforms over time.

Ultimately with competition across delivery platforms we are moving to a content-based pay per view approach. Therefore if you value it, you will pay for it.

By contrast, in the Sky Sports only era ITV's slice of the cake had already been reduced to only half the CL content. The direction of travel was one way. And without a Sky subscription you literally could not access some content.

Bit of competition will be a good thing imo. ITV and BBC don't gave funds to compete.

As a sky customer I find it the opposite. What it guarentees is when the next bid for PL comes they will through an even more ridiculous amount of money at it and then suitably charge the customer an awful lot more.

This will happen and the punters will have to make up the shortfall

Agree possible, but that wont be for some years,in the meantime Sky have to treat their customers carefully
