"Albion want to catch out Championship rivals with an extra weapon – Bruno’s surprise long throw."

Not much of a surprise now is it.

Was getting quite interested in that paragraph, until the disappointment of the last word

At least Bruno has a long throw , anyone else remember Tunnicliffe being touted by Slade as a specialist long throw expert based on him getting an extra three yards in distance compared to the other Albion players ?

Given the innuendo laden headline AND the choice of image, I fear that the Argus sub-editor in question shares your FILTHY mind :nono:

A classic double bluff.
Focus on the throw in and forget about Bruno twatting the first one in, from 30 yards.

The problem with Tunnicliffe's was that it was a high looping throw which gave defenders and age to get in position and clear. Delap's and hopefully Bruno's are powerful speared throws into the box which cause havoc when flicked on.

Hold on, it wouldn't be a SURPRISE, would it, look how low he has to wear his shorts in the photo at the top of the thread. He OBVIOUSLY needs the extra room.

It's not how big it is, but what you do with it that counts.

As Gus says - we don't have the players to benefit from a huge aerial bombardment of the penalty area anyway, so that isn't something we'll see a lot of.

However - that isn't the only way you can utilise a long throw. I had (before I knackered my shoulder) the ability to launch it, and we would use it by firing it miles down the wing, from a throw in in our own half. Get everyone to come quite short, to draw their defenders right up to the halfway line, then launch it over them all for our fastest player to spin and chase.

Lualua can give most a 10 yard headstart.

Hopefully lots of people won't be underwhelmed now Gus has been shouting about how big it is.

I speak only for myself, but after all this build up, I'm quietly confident it's going to be ENORMOUS.
