Absolutely right - I hadn't considered that before.
AAE were great though - 3 huge guys and this tiny waif-like 'lost little girl' (name that tune?) at the front of the stage.
My two favourites are Reagan & Bush, being Julianne and Kate, not the presidents.![]()
Not favourites of mine at all, but you have to include Allison Moyet and Annie Lennox in any list of succesful British female singers.
I know this is dreadfully unhip and not-very-with-it, but I'll dare to be square, becuase Dame Vera Lynn is VERY worthy of mention in this thread.
I saw her a few months back being interviewed on tv, and she just sang a couple of lines and sent a shiver down my spine!
What she meant to men fighting abroad in World War II, cannot be quantified.

However they have produced some rubbish AAE with the album Ultaviolet, and although waiting twelve years, Aerial has a couple of dodgy moments.
