Typical!
This shows just who controls F1 - Ferrari !
With about 8 mins left in Q2, Alonso spins in the straight and immediately radios that there should be a Red flag. Noone else complains.
Hey Presto, with 6 mins left the Red flag comes out.
Fast forward to a drier track and guess who is on pole. Alonso.
Just rename it Ferrar1 .......
The only complaining was from Eddie Jordan - If Mclaren had complained i dare say it wouldn't get far.
Slippery - yes.
Alonso was the only one calling for a red flag though ...
You miss my point - Alonso was the only driver wanting a red flag.
14 drivers were managing to keep the car on the road and push the car to the limits the conditions allowed, Alonso was over cooking it and spinning off and had no chance of making p3 the rate he was going. It was totally unfair on the drivers occupying the top 10 spots at the time to stop the session and wait for the rain to stop. They got out early on the right tires and did the job. As Damon Hill said they used to race in worse conditions than that
Why would he ? He was second at the time.
Really disappointing Q3 for Hamilton fans....like me![]()
